Slide and Negative Scanning

Having your priceless 35mm slides and film negatives to a digital format is a great idea. The slide projector and screen of the past have quickly been replaced by the DVD player and the television.

We always deliver your digital photos cropped to the image edge, rotated, and individually, not automatically, to ensure each image comes out looking great, each scan is manually processed using Digital ICE technology and corrected so all of your photos are slide show ready.  We can't imagine why anyone would want their photos archived sideways and upside down. 

Once on disk, your photos can be enjoyed, shared and archived.

How we scan

We use low pressure compressed air to blow any loose particles off before scanning. 
 All scans are reviewed.
 We rotate photos to the proper orientation. In most cases we can determine which way is up (no charge).
 Additional colour balance and exposure control will be done, as determined by us, to improve underexposed and colour shifted slides (included with all scans).
 Scans are saved in JPG format at the high quality setting, unless specified other format.

We offer different levels of scanning to suit your digital needs.

A low resolution digital photo of 1000 dpi is perfect for web use, for quick email and file sharing.
A medium resolution digital photo of 2000 dpi is ideal for slide shows and printing up 6" x 9".
A high resolution digital photo of 4000 dpi are best for preserving, storing, viewing, and editing. Also great for re-prints up to 11" x 14" (even an enlarged print up to 20" x 30").
A TIFF format resolution digital photo of 4000 dpi is designed for the professional photographers and graphic design artists who prefer to work with TIFFs

Remember to organize your originals in the order you wish to have them scanned or transferred.
